MEET JACK MILLS
Jack Mills is the founder of Hong Kong Econ Tutor. Having honed his skills in the competitive Hong Kong private tutoring market, Jack now brings Hong Kong style academic tutoring to the rest of the world. He has taught economics to students from all over the world, from Panama City to Guangzhou, from St. Lucia to London, and from Boston to Nairobi.
Jack has mastered teaching economics across all major international curricula, including AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, A Levels, IGCSE, and IB. His mission is to promote economic literacy globally and prepare his students for outstanding success at university - and he delivers: his students have earned spots at elite institutions like HKU, Tsinghua, Stanford, UCLA, Tufts, and Edinburgh.

His sessions are powered by a relentless focus on incentives, interactive skills training, creative iteration, and goal-driven organization. Through a laser-sharp focus on foundational mastery and closing knowledge gaps with precision drilling, many of Jack’s students turn struggles into breakthroughs and achieve perfect marks. He doesn’t just prepare them for exams—he prepares them for life, fostering critical thinking, independence, and the discipline needed to thrive at university and beyond. Jack holds a BA in Economics from the University of Calgary, a certificate in Graphic Design from the Alberta College of Art + Design, and is a Certified Global Sanctions Specialist through ACAMS. He also attended the Harvard University Extension School and was awarded a full scholarship to the Taipei School of Economics.
